CLICHÉ 02:15
I don’t want to go to school Teachers make me act so cruel Well OK so I’m a jerk I don’t want to go to work But I believe in Grandpa’s dreams There must be something that redeems From the guitar chord to the psychic ward If you’re not screaming then you’re bored Chorus When Jesus comes again he’ll have his hair greased back And all of the children will be ready to attack They’ll pull out Grandpa’s Maltese Cross And then they’ll really sing ‘cause they felt the loss Every day is so cliché Every day is so cliché Second verse same as the first 8-measure guitar solo Outro Every day is so cliché Every day is so cliché Every day is so cliché Every day is so cliché

It starts when I spit in the mirror Got to move when my knees leave the ground She starts when I call her the devil Beauty sheds when she moves around With eyes that blaze like melting ice With lips clamped shut and trapped in stone. Chorus Same time tomorrow My guts will be hollow Nothing stays down When I’m bound For that girl I don’t know if I’m man or beast In that tight place between the walls Then she brings me to the brink Twenty lusty fingers all in the crawl Holy flame still burns like grease She must have picked the lock in hell’s wall Chorus Same time tomorrow My guts will be hollow Same time tomorrow My guts will be hollow Outro Nothing stays down When I’m bound Nothing stays down When I’m bound For that girl I am bound for that girl I am bound for that girl I am bound for that girl For that girl

Mary Left 03:57
Mary is in your mind Mary She’s not your kind Mary She don’t complain Mary I can’t explain You can sing the song, but it’s always wrong If it’s hard to see, just follow me These days long gone, it just won’t take me home I just saw Mary walk down the street Mary is in your mind Mary She’s not your kind Mary She don’t complain Mary I can’t explain She’s just a thought, she tells you this, but you hear that You can not run, you can’t hide Search all the day and you search all the night But the answer just moves side to side Mary is in your mind Mary She’s not your kind Mary She don’t complain Mary I can’t explain The helmets and the sheds and the goggles on your head And the answer is so plain to see The headphones and the books and of all the dirty looks And those eyes were looking at me Mary is in your mind Mary She’s not your kind Mary She don’t complain Mary I can’t explain It’s cold outside and you search far and wide And the answer is so plain to see You can sing the song, but it always comes out wrong I just saw Mary walk down the street Mary is in your mind (bye bye, bye bye)

All I need is a replay It’s not a victimless crime I can see all the standstills It was a moment in time All I need is a handle on it Then I can drop you a line All this noise and a TV set I’m just biding my time She has a handle on it She has a handle on it All I need is a rocky shore To clear my head and my heart once more This all is stupid, now I’m out the door Hit the streets, find another score I don’t wanna be braindead I’m yours forever, is what she said This all is stupid, now she’s out the door And now I’m home to my rocky shore She has a handle on it She has a handle on it All I need is a replay It’s not avictemless crime I can see all the standstills It was a moment in time All I need is a handle on it All I need is a handle on it All I need is a handle on it She has a handle on it She has a handle on it She has a handle on it She has a handle on it

When I was young, I liked to run around But as I got older I wanted to “get down” Folk Dance, Disco, Ballroom Dancing We’d get to hold the girls when we go a’ prancing Then the song changed from fast to slow I got to move in and go toe-to-toe Arm around her waist, I could not miss If I was lucky, I’d get a kiss Refrain But I was the good boy, always the friend Mothers would trust me to bring her home by ten I was the Boy Scout, true and pure But the fire inside- there is no cure Verse It was hard to let go and stop slowly swaying to and fro Girls will be girls when the dance ended Boys will be boys when left unattended Hot Dogs at Nicky’s, bag full of fries, That’s when the “men” tell their little lies About the one that almost met me And then went with me, and then went with me Refrain But I was the good boy, always the friend Mothers would trust me to bring her home by ten I was the Boy Scout, true and pure But the fire inside- there is no cure Verse When I was young, I used to run around But now that I’m older I got to “get down” Folk Dance, Disco, Ballroom Dancing I get to hold my girl when we go a’ prancing Then the song changed from fast to slow I get to move in and go toe-to-toe Arm around her waist, I did not miss I pulled her in close and got that kiss Refrain But I was the good boy, always the friend Mothers would trust me to bring her home by ten I was the Boy Scout, true and pure But for the fire inside, there is no cure Boys will be boys when left unattended And girls will be girls when the dance ended Boys will be boys when left unattended And girls will be girls when the dance ended Boys will be boys when left unattended And girls will be girls when the dance ended There is no cure There is no cure There is no cure

Tightrope, razor’s edge, no time to explain It’s a small little package with a hurricane brain It’s a force of nature that will blow off all your doors I’ve got my sexy shoes firmly on the floor Pocket Judy’s just two drinks away From having me to call and asking her to stay With her Bowie ideals and her Lou Reed eyes She has a style for fashion and a velvet touch mind With her champagne thoughts and her cabernet …lies My compass my guide and your shit-eating pride Your wheels are spinning; don’t know why you’re grinnin’ Thanks for the care and thanks for the time I’m in love with love, like a hand in glove And if you ask for a ride You better get inside And let it slide GUITAR SOLO Tightrope, razor’s edge, no time to explain It’s a small little package with a hurricane brain It’s a force of nature that will blow off all your doors I’ve got my sexy shoes firmly on the floor And if you ask for a ride You better get inside And let it slide

I’d like to be hanging from your wall, Like the paper eyes stuck on this French Warhol Sometimes I’d like to think that I’m alone Staring at this paintbrush The lines come and go like paper rain I think I’ll sit here and complain Chorus Cartoon woman….don’t stare….. Don’t turn your back aaaah Goodbye my silhouette (x2) Keep your watches handy The yellow pages of her youth gone by Time will take your breath away But I still remember Her lipstick and her yellow cutout hair And when I blink, she isn’t there Chorus Cartoon woman….don’t stare….. Don’t turn your back aaaah Goodbye my silhouette (x2) Solo Cartoon Woman……Cartoon Woman Chorus Cartoon woman….don’t stare….. Don’t turn your back aaaah Goodbye my silhouette (x2)

All I ever got to show Is the back of my army coat The door says what I’ve got to say When it slams shut and I walk away Curse this echo burning me, I can be what I want to be But I never wanted to be frustrated I wanted to run, I wanted to hide, But all I do is hide inside As my heroes stand in mirrors and search for truth And those aware pretend to care and steal from my youth You’re not talking about my generation anymore Doped up hopes and beer-soaked brain Back and forth on the El train Don’t I know this is my prime I should do something with my time Curse this echo burning me, I can be what I want to be But I never wanted to be frustrated I wanted to run, I wanted to hide, But all I do is hide inside As my heroes stand in mirrors and search for truth And those aware pretend to care and steal from my youth Well- Someone better save me Someone better save me Someone better save me Save me from myself (all I ever do) Save me from myself (all I ever do) Save me from myself (all I ever do)

about

This is the first full-length LP from Chicago's Punk Pop Phenomena, Dead Freddie. The twelve tracks find their origins in the early Punk of the Ramones, the Clash and the Buzzcocks inflected with the Ska stylings of the English Beat and the Specials with vocal influences of David Bowie, David Byrne, and Elvis Costello. Layered within, one will also find hints of Chicago Power Pop of Cheap Trick, Off Broadway USA and Pez Band.
